An award-winning author, psychotherapist, mental health educator, keynote speaker, disability rights advocate, extreme athlete, and fitness coach, Rebecca Alexander is almost completely blind and deaf. Grateful for every sound, sight, and sense, Rebecca transforms personal adversities into a platform for empowerment and advocacy while educating and inspiring others to navigate and dismantle societal and personal barriers.

    Rebecca is a highly interactive, strengths-based psychotherapist with a full-time practice in Manhattan. With over 20 years of experience, Rebecca holds two Master’s degrees from Columbia University in Clinical Social Work and Public Health, and advanced training from several notable psychotherapy institutes including the American Institute for Psychoanalysis.

USHER SYNDROME SOCIETY

As a Board Director and volunteer for the Usher Syndrome Society, Rebecca accelerates the non-profit’s mission to raise public awareness and funds for dedicated research for Usher syndrome, the most common genetic cause of combined and progressive blindness and deafness around the world.
